Approximately two years ago, my daughter was flown from her hospital in the Valley to Cedars Sinai. I didn’t know how I was going to receive my infusions while being with her. “I was first diagnosed with Breast Cancer in December 1996, my first surgery was December 20, 1996. Where the surgeon (Dr. Ronald Hollness), removed eight malignant tumors and 18 lymph nodes. I was referred to Dr. Alex Kawana by a trusted close family friend, a member of my decision-making team. I had my first visit with Dr. Kawana in January 1997, and I have been a patient of Synergy ever since. At that time, I learned just exactly what I was dealing with. Stage 3 Invasive Breast Cancer. Which was the second highest grade of breast cancer, just below Inflammatory Breast Cancer. Needless to say, Chemotherapy “John Hopkins Protocol” almost daily for six months. With many hospitalizations. Radiation Therapy daily for 90 days. Through it all, “Synergy” my Medical Team, got me through it all, including the countless side effects. In 2013, I was again diagnosed with Breast Cancer, this time the right breast. Fortunately, because of Dr. Kawana and his insight the second cancer was found, it was in Stage 1. It was also a different type of cancer. Thank God for that! Again, followed by, Surgery, Radiation and Chemotherapy and many side effects. There are so many things that I love and appreciate about Synergy: Professionalism, Honesty, Compassion, Consideration, Appointments are timely, Excellent Bedside Manners, and Personalized Service. Synergy is like a Symphony Orchestra in Concert, harmoniously working together. Throughout it all, Dr. Kawana “Synergy”, and all of the many specialists, that have been involved, is the reason, that I am alive today, they got me through it all. I appreciate all of the things that Synergy does to care for all of us. I would be lost without them. Would I recommend “Synergy” to anyone? Yes ! Absolutely, I always do.
