Nasal Spray for Depression
We are proud to offer SPRAVATO® (esketamine), an FDA-approved nasal spray that provides a different approach to treating depression. No needles, no injections. SPRAVATO is administered here in our office under medical supervision and works on a different pathway in the brain than traditional antidepressants. Unlike medications that can take several weeks to show results, SPRAVATO may help some patients experience improvements in depressive symptoms much sooner.
SPRAVATO is designed for adults with treatment-resistant depression, meaning depression that has not adequately responded to at least two antidepressant medications. It can be used on its own or alongside an oral antidepressant, depending on each patient’s needs. For some patients, significant improvement in depression may allow Dr. Sam to evaluate whether other antidepressant medications can be gradually reduced or discontinued. Any medication adjustments are made carefully under close medical supervision, with the goal of achieving lasting relief and improving overall quality of life.
